Adobe Creative Cloud Review
What is Adobe Creative Cloud?
Creative professionals don't rely on any single tool. Instead, they build a custom toolbox that gives them flexibility and reliability. This requires a lot of trial and error. Adobe realized the need to speed up this process and created Adobe Creative Cloud. Adobe's stock of apps is best known for allowing users to edit images and videos. There's even the option to sign photos from Adobe Stock. Here is my Adobe Creative Cloud review, So let's pull back the curtain and see how well it works. Adobe Creative Cloud feature details
Now, let's discover some of the features and benefits that this toolbox can offer its users.
- Quick test 4 questions
Adobe offers a quick test that helps visitors discover the most suitable application. Visit the Adobe homepage, click on “Creativity and Design”, click on “What is Creative Cloud?” scroll down to “Get an app recommendation in about 60 seconds” and click the blue “Start Now” button. The first question is which of the five areas are you most interested in:
- Photos
- videos
- project
- illustration
The second question narrows down what type of work you need to do in that area. The third asks how you like to learn and the fourth asks whether you are an individual or student/teacher. I clicked on the quizzes several times and discovered that the last two questions don't matter – the recommendation is always based on the first two.
- Photos – the quiz will recommend Photoshop or Lightroom.
- Videos – it’s Premiere Pro, Animate, Audition ou After Effects.
- Design – it’s InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator ou Adobe XD.
- Illustration – is it Photoshop or Illustrator.
- Para PDF, it's always Acrobat Pro.
You can already spot a power imbalance in Adobe products – Photoshop is recommended in 3 categories.
- A myriad of applications
You can't say anything about Adobe, and that's why they suck at apps. Because they are not. They offer many applications that, with time, have become a reference in different areas of activity.
- Photos
Let's see which apps you can use in this Creative Cloud for your photos.
- Photoshop
Adobe flagship, and this is evident. There are a multitude of effects that can transform any image into any other image; the only limit is how much time you spend polishing the chisel marks. Furthermore, you can apply some effects automatically, although they probably look complicated under close examination.
Photoshop is a raster image editor that works best on photographs and pixel-based graphics. In him, you can create and edit images, photos and graphics on a desktop and iPad. Furthermore, There are free and paid Photoshop plugins that expand its capabilities, giving you, for example, limited video editing power.
Any image opened in Photoshop can be divided into layers, with each layer edited independently. It's a remarkable tool, although it can become a consumer of resources. It is mandatory to use it on a desktop machine with at least 16 GB of RAM and i7 processor. The more robust your machine is, the smoother the work will be.
- Photoshop Lightroom
This is an image tagging and processing program. You can edit batches of images by applying filters that correct colors and white balance, remove the red-eye effect and so on. Furthermore, there is version control, saving the original image along with the edited one in case the changes backfire. Three versions of Lightroom are Lightroom Classic CC, Lightroom Mobile and Lightroom CC. The difference is which devices you are using – Classic CC is for desktop devices, Mobile is for portable devices and CC is for a balanced combination of features.
- Photoshop Elements
A standalone desktop app optimized for foolproof photo editing and sharing on social media. Comes with 60 guided edits, a feature that streamlines the professional appearance of images. Features Adobe Sensei AI, a machine learning assistant that can evaluate images and automatically correct them by tilting your eyes to look at the camera or smoothing out pimply faces.
This might be the best option for meme creators and marketers. Available in a bundle with Premiere Elements too. Bonus feature is sending prints and gifts straight from the app in the US.
- Photoshop Expresso
A freemium mobile app with paid features considered “photo magic at your fingertips ”. Unfortunately, features are more about speed and accessibility than complexity. I tested the Android version on the Samsung A51 and used low quality JPGs. The effects are simple and can worsen the image. Furthermore, The presentation is lackluster and makes the app look cobbled together in the afternoon. The redeeming feature is the Aspect Ratio – there are 30 presets, including a YouTube thumbnail, a Facebook ad and an Instagram post.
- Photoshop Camera
Another freemium mobile app designed for capturing and sharing photos. There are two tricks. The first is a collection of real-time camera lenses and filters. The second is that an AI recommends them. The A51, released in December 2019, not compatible with the app, but inferior cell phones, like S9, S9+ is Note9, released in 2018, they are. There is no obvious standard about which phones are supported and why.
- videos
Even your videos are covered by Adobe.
- Premiere Pro
This is the Photoshop of video and film editing. You can get an impressive variety of fonts, effects, audio files and other resources in any format, anywhere, including Adobe libraries, and insert them into the video. It supports up to 8K resolution, but performance during editing is highly hardware dependent.
I'm not saying you should get one of Linus Tech Tips' dumb builds with two terabytes of RAM, but a substantially strong configuration is required.
- Premiere elements
A video equivalent to Photoshop Elements. The method is a little different, but the goal is to transform mediocre content into one that looks professional. Transitions, ready-made animations and effects cover imperfections, piecing together video details into a compelling visual story. Just like Photoshop Elements, This app is designed to make editing easier for complete amateurs, instead of providing full editing control.
- After effects
An application for motion graphics and visual effects. The main function is to mask uneven parts of the footage. The more time you dedicate to After Effects, the smoother your work will look, as long as you can handle the user interface. As with all video editing software, it consumes a lot of resources and can crash on slower machines.
- Rush debut
A tool for creating and sharing online videos on desktop and mobile devices. Presets are key here, as resources are reduced so as not to overload the user. The target audience for this tool is YouTube editors working with minimal resources and skills.
- Project
Illustration? or Maybe some graphic design for your works?
- illustrator
A vector-based illustration and design app. Photoshop is used for photo editing; Illustrator is for art editing. Vector-based images are easily resized without creating jagged edges or losing detail. There is a free trial of 7 days for Illustrator.
- InDesign
Page layout designer for print and digital media. He creates e-books, videos, slideshows, animations and other attractive content. Analytics are built into the tool to show how your content is performing.
- InCopy
An intermediate tool for writers and designers. The feature set focuses on merging text with graphics because writers use a set of tools and designers.
- Animate
A 2D animation editor, Best used to add life and depth to a flat artistic presentation. It is suitable for making video games and cartoon environments, with option to create interactive works, like responsive web banners.
Substance 3D Collection is a set of tools for creating and rendering 3D scenes, eSubstance 3D Texturing is a set of tools for creating and painting 3D materials.
- Acrobat Pro DC
A professional PDF editor. “DC” stands for “document cloud” so users know it uses online storage and a SaaS payment model. A light version called “Standard DC” does not have access to advanced features, such as document comparison and one-click document creation.
The full list of features looks fantastic and makes me think an Adobe marketing intern picked up the keyboard one day and went crazy. A claimed feature is to turn scanned documents into searchable and editable text with fonts matching the original source (!). OCR can turn scanned documents into text files, but so far I haven't found a service that identifies image sources and I don't think Acrobat Pro DC can do that either.
I think the program has a dozen generic replacement fonts, using the closest match to the source you uploaded. As the resource is little used, no one disputes it; even if they did, Adobe politely asks you to stop talking about this.
- Adobe stock
An asset library is where you pay to subscribe to each separate asset, as picture, video, illustration or audio. Each month, your account is entitled to some free assets, which accumulate as you renew your subscription up to a certain limit that depends on the plan purchased. That's the simple part, but now it becomes byzantine. People can buy each asset for its price in dollars, but some require credits, purchased and used only from Adobe Stock.
There are also two types of licenses for assets: standard and extended. The first cannot be used commercially on physical items, but the second one can. In some contexts, the Adobe Stock webpage uses the words “enhanced license”, which I assume refers to the extended license. Otherwise, there are three or more license types.
- Adobe Experience Manager is a tool for managers to handle personalized content. A DAM system (digital asset management) and a CMS (content management system) gathered into one. In short, managers who don't understand art can ensure that it always ends up in the right hands. Documents can be transferred using this tool, with integrated electronic signatures from start to finish. Furthermore, automation and smart tools reduce repetitive tasks, decreasing the chance of errors or burnout.
- Adobe XD is a UX design tool for creating interfaces and graphic structures. People can create graphics for the web, mobile app interfaces, branded materials and video games.
- Dreamweaver is a dynamically coded website development tool. Optimized for fast, non-complex website development, with customizable templates and an asset funnel from Adobe Stock.
- Audition It's for recording, audio mixing and restoration, known as “non-destructive editing”. However, an audition is not used to compose new sounds or songs. Best used with a video editing suite.
- De facto image editing standard
Adobe Creative Cloud has become part of the social consciousness to the point where one of its applications is synonymous with image editing. Pointing out an edited image is as easy as saying it was “photoshopped”. By the way, Adobe does not appreciate the use of the name Photoshop, but what can the company do – politely ask you to stop?
- Adobe can act like a bully
Adobe's business plan is to lure people into a walled garden using freebies and then intimidate them for more money through various schemes. While you're inside, the visitor will be subject to many of Adobe's micromanagement rules.
The Section 5.2 of Adobe's General Terms of Use states that inactive user accounts may be terminated at Adobe's sole discretion. However, This “does not apply to accounts paid in good standing”. Unfortunately, there is no definition of inactivity or regular status, giving Adobe unlimited power to do whatever it wants with any of its users or their accounts.
The real gem is in the section 11.2 (D), where Adobe reserves the right to ban users who have “repeatedly made complaints in bad faith” and continue to do so after Adobe politely asks them to stop. This clause appears to be designed to crack down on people who share bad experiences with Adobe on social media.
It's not an empty threat because trying to get out of Adobe's walled garden can be a problem - anecdotal reports mention that files/projects can be a hassle to export in bulk. Analyzing Pricing Plans, I also noticed paying a fee to cancel your subscription. Furthermore, they exist 21 Additional Terms of Use relating to a facet of Adobe's business.
- Processing multiple files is a pain
App Store reviews are a refuge from the clause 11.2 (D). Na App Store da Apple, user NavWombat left a Creative Cloud review on 2020, complaining about not performing actions on multiple files on an iPad, adding that this has been a consistent issue with Creative Cloud. For example, Deleting or duplicating multiple files generates an error when accessing their options. Furthermore, files added to Creative Cloud would not sync, unless the window refresh was forced. In short, “a lot of confusion and redundancy”.
Adobe Creative Cloud Integrations Detailed
You can bring in external apps if the Creative Cloud feature set isn't enough. There is an Adobe API and a development toolkit to make your plugin or integration. For those who don't have patience, Adobe offers a marketplace with paid plugins.
Adobe Creative Cloud Review Conclusions
It's hard to resist the lure of Adobe Creative Cloud, mainly because of Photoshop and Premiere Pro. Both have an excellent level of polish, providing unparalleled control over photo and video materials. However, What makes me hesitant to recommend Adobe Creative Cloud is that Adobe seems to want the same amount of control over its users.
Photoshop and Premiere Pro are fully integrated with Adobe Creative Cloud; once you're in it, there is no way out. You are entering an unbalanced relationship, So you can get stuck if you don't have an exit plan. Investing professionally in Photoshop or Premiere Pro only to have it all removed because of a bug, a problematic update or subscription renewal is an absolute tragedy.
Adobe Stock is another example of how Adobe treats its users poorly. Of course, content creators can demand any price and set restrictions on their content. Therefore, Adobe had to develop a scheme that would motivate creators to join the platform and stay on it. Even so, Adobe considered your interests and those of content creators; users are a distant third. If you have the willpower to abandon your work and year-long investment at any time, try Adobe Creative Cloud. For everyone else, I prefer to recommend that you continue experimenting with tools to create a personalized toolbox where you will be in control.
Adobe Acrobat Analysis
Want to edit PDFs, share them, sign them, get other people to sign them and more? Then you need a PDF editor. Logic dictates that, How Adobe invented PDF (abbreviation for portable document format), they should be the company to turn to. But is Adobe Acrobat Pro DC really the best PDF editor on the market today??
Acrobat Reader x Acrobat DC x Acrobat Pro DC
First of all, although, It is important to distinguish which PDF software we are talking about, because Adobe offers three. First on the list iso Acrobat Reader, which is free and the most basic. This allows you to read, sign it, collaborate and annotate PDF files, but don't edit them.
If you need a PDF editor, you will need to pay. And if you use Windows, you have two options: Adobe Acrobat DC and theAdobe Acrobat Pro DC, a little more expensive.(However, if you use a Mac, only Adobe Acrobat Pro DC will be available).
We will review the most expensive Adobe Acrobat Pro DC here. But first of all, we will see the basic features common to both.
Creating PDFs
If you have a document in Microsoft Word or Google Docs that you need to turn into a PDF, It's very easy in this software. But what if you want to combine multiple documents and file types into a single PDF? This is something that Acrobat Pro DC makes very easy.
And that's not all. You can create PDFs directly from scans, of content stored on the clipboard or just starting from a blank page. All of these options are presented clearly in the interface, and there are many sub-options to help you create your PDF in exactly the way that suits you.
Admittedly, creating PDFs typically won't be the reason people want a PDF editor: graphic designers, for example, are more likely to use something like InDesign for this. But it's great to know that it exists and makes it really easy for non-designers to create PDFs, if necessary.
A word of caution, however. There is also the option to transform website pages (or even entire websites) in interactive PDFs with functional links. I tried this on the Creative Bloq homepage and Adobe's Creative Cloud homepage. In both cases, the text was good, but the images were completely absent. Disappointing.
Said that, on simpler web pages, without many interactive features, like the Wikipedia entry shown below, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC did a very accurate job of creating a PDF.
Editing PDFs
When it comes to editing PDFs, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC is a dream. Literally: in the last decades I dreamedem being able to insert a PDF and delete it, change and move elements, just like you can do in a graphic design program like InDesign. And with Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, this is not only possible, It is also very easy and intuitive.
You can enter, delete and reorder pages. You can edit text, add new text and delete unwanted text, and the same happens with images. You can number your pages. You can insert watermarks, markers, headers, skirting boards, links to other documents and links to web pages.
You can remove funds, add article boxes and attach files. You can split a PDF into multiple files. You can rotate images, bring them to the front and send them to the back. If you make a mistake, the good old Control-Z is there to reset everything.
Very simply, I couldn't think of anything I wanted to do with a PDF that wasn't covered and, even so, for anyone who has ever used a design tool, The interface is very simple and easy to follow.
When finished, you will have the option to export your PDF in various formats, including Microsoft Word (old and new versions), Excel (old and new versions), Powerpoint, jpg, TIFF, png, HTML single or multiple pages and various text-only formats.
Sharing and collaboration
Want to share your PDFs with others? Adobe Acrobat Pro DC makes it easy, either as an email attachment or as a link in Adobe Document Cloud, a free service that anyone can access. Instead of 2 Standard GB of free storage, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC users get impressive 100 GB.
This means that, as well as allowing people to view your PDFs, You can also let them collaborate on them by adding comments and @mentions. What if you have a lot of people who need to see your PDF, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC makes it easy to manage.
For example, allows you to send an email with a link to multiple reviewers. Everyone in this group will be able to annotate the same PDF wherever they are, on both desktops and mobile devices, without needing to sign up for anything. You can get real-time updates when your PDF is opened or comments are added, and the software makes it easy to send reminders and update deadlines.
This kind of thing can get very complicated and confusing., So it's a credit to Adobe that they've recently worked to simplify this process. And it shows: everything is beautiful and intuitive, and I had no reason to delve into the help files at any point. OK, It still takes a little time to understand this, but overall this is a much more efficient way to collaborate on a PDF than, Let's say, send multiple emails and attachments, which usually results in everyone becoming hopelessly lost.
Adobe Acrobat Pro DC is also seamlessly integrated withAdobe Sign, which is our number one choice when it comes to thebest e-signature software. Therefore, if you need your PDFs to be electronically signed by people, you will also have good coverage.
All the Acrobat Pro DC features we have discussed so far are also present in Acrobat DC, a little cheaper. But now let's take a look at the extra features you only get in Acrobat Pro DC.
Exclusive features of Adobe Pro DC
Compare changes to PDFs
If you send a lot of PDFs and a lot of people can fit them, it can be easy to lose sight of what has changed. That’s where the useful ‘Compare Files’ tool comes in., which highlights exactly what the differences are between two PDFs for a quick visual comparison.
You can compare multiple versions of a PDF file using single page views or a side-by-side comparison view. It is very easy to use in practice, and you can even apply filters to see what has changed, according to type of content, images, text, annotations or formatting.
Add audio, video and 3D objects
If your business is creating multimedia assets, you will want the opportunity to add video, sound and interactive content to your PDFs. And Adobe Acrobat Pro DC offers exactly that option, whether adding files directly to your PDF or linking files on the web.
This is very easy to do. Just click on Tools > Rich Media > Add 3D/Add Video/Add Sound and select the area of the page where you want the media to appear. There are also advanced features, such as the ability to determine when media plays and stops, creating a black border around content and using chapter points to create markers in a video from which to initiate specific actions (for example, in a training video). they may link to additional information).
Acrobat Pro supports .mp3, .mov and other H.264 encoded files. You can convert other file types to one of the supported formats using Adobe Media Encoder.
Search scanned documents
You scan a lot of text documents? Then you will be pleased because Acrobat Pro DC allows you to convert them into editable PDFs. This means you can adjust the text if you need to, but maybe it would be more useful, means you can search for the text you are looking for. If you have a printed version of a how-to guide or corporate manual that is hundreds of pages long, You will probably find that this function saves you a lot of time.
This function worked well for me in conjunction with the free Adobe Scan mobile app. I was particularly impressed with Acrobat Pro DC accurately transcribing two pages from the brilliant Hunger Games prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, by Suzanne Collins, even though I only opened the book partially and upside down. At the moment, forty-one languages are recognized, including non-Roman scripts, like Chinese and Japanese.
Edit confidential content of PDFs
Whether you're a PR person trying to keep details of an upcoming film under wraps or a government official trying to protect state secrets, you can send PDFs with certain sensitive content removed or edited. Good, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC makes this easy to do and provides a lot of granularity in how you approach it.
In place of the removed material, you can place colored boxes or leave the area blank. In the case of the first, you can overlay custom texts or redaction codes to make things clearer for the reader. If you need to remove a lot of repetitive material, you can automate everything using the ‘Find + Redact’. You can also edit hidden content, as metadata, embedded content and attached files.
To be honest, this probably won't be an important feature for many people. But hey, if you are one of the few who will find it useful, then you'll definitely want Acrobat Pro DC.
Other professional features
The above four features are the main advantages you get when you subscribe to Adobe Acrobat Pro DC instead of Adobe Acrobat DC, along with the ability to run it on a Mac. But that's not quite the end of the story.
If you are concerned about exact accuracy, there is a useful measurement tool in the Pro version that allows you to measure the distance, area and perimeter of objects in PDFs, and guided actions to help you create PDFs consistently.
When it comes to PDF creation, you can also convert and validate PDFs for compliance with ISO standards such as PDF/An and PDF/X; create technical PDFs in Microsoft Project, Visio or Autodesk AutoCAD; and create and validate PDFs to meet accessibility standards for people with disabilities.
On the editing side, Acrobat Pro DC offers the ability to add Bates numbering to legal documents. And when it comes to sharing your PDFs with others, you can add interactivity by inserting JavaScript; Automatically optimize PDFs to reduce file size; and prepare files for high-quality print production
Adobe Acrobat Pro DC Pricing
Acrobat Pro DC is available for Windows and Mac from R$ 95.00/month on an annual subscription. If you want to try any of the software, you can cancel within 14 days to get a full refund.
Acrobat Pro DC is also available on Creative Cloud, which provides access to the latest versions of Adobe applications through an annual subscription.
You must purchase Adobe Acrobat Pro DC?
We'll get straight to the point. Adobe Acrobat Pro DC is simply the best PDF editor available today, for three main reasons.
In the first place, its range of features is simply unmatched by any other tool. In second place, despite this apparent complexity, the interface is brilliantly designed, making it very simple to find what you're looking for and perform the tasks you want to accomplish. And thirdly, it combines perfectly with other Adobe tools, like Adobe Sign and Adobe Document Cloud, making your workflow as smooth and hassle-free as you can imagine.
So that means you should sign it? Good, it really depends on what you want to use it for.
As we detailed above, much of what it offers can also be found in Adobe Acrobat DC, cheaper. Therefore, if you want to pay more, depends on one or more specific resources, how to compare PDFs, search for scanned documents or redact document information, will be really useful for you.
Otherwise, it makes no sense to pay the extra price to subscribe to just Adobe Acrobat Pro DC… Good, unless you are on a Mac, in which case it is your only option, or if you have additional reasons to subscribe to Creative Cloud as a whole.
